Board of Advisors  Randall Barton, Ph.D. Dr. Barton has had almost 20 years of drug discovery experience with Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, primarily in the areas of immunological and inflammatory diseases as well as cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.  He had responsibility for target identification and validation as well as lead optimization and early stage development of both small molecule and biological drug candidates including monoclonal antibody and gene and cell therapy.  More recently, he has been involved in discovery and development functions in oncology and virology in the biotech industry.  Prior to joining Boehringer Ingelheim, Dr. Barton held a faculty position at the University of Connecticut Medical School and currently has an adjunct position.  He is the author of more than 75 publications and patents.
